Hydro Quebec has a program that can – and hopefully will – help communities across the province. You may end up saving on your Hydro bill and your community project can get up to 35 dollars just by your participation in the Energy Wise Home Diagnostic questionnaire.
According to the ad I found in the local paper yesterday,
Fill out the ENERGY WISE Home Diagnostic questionnaire and get a free personalized recommendations report estimating in dollars and kilowatt hours how much energy you could be saving. At the same time, you’ll be supporting a project in your community.
For each report, Hydro-Quebec will contribute 30.00 to your community and an extra 5.00 if your report is issued online instead of on paper.
The project depends on where you are. For example, if you’re in Montreal North, the money will be donated to purchase new play ground equipment for the Aime-Leonard Park. If you’re in St. Laurent, your supported community project is the creation of an Internet cafe in the Centre des Loisirs, which will be managed by Ressources Jeunesse de St. Laurent, "an organization that works toward social integration for 16 to 24 year old youth."
Other projects areas include – among many others – beautifying a park (Mount Royal), buying street furniture to "green" Westminster in Montreal West, and buying outdoor physical fitness equipment along existing walking paths in Cote St. Luc.
To participate, fill out the questionnaire at www.wegowiththeflow.com/35
