In conjunction with Earth day this week, the Montreal Planetarium’s astronomers and members of the Planetarium are hosting an evening of stargazing.

According to their website:

Montréal Planetarium astronomers and members of the Société d’astronomie du Planétarium de Montréal (SAPM) will be setting up telescopes so that you can relive Galileo’s experience when he first gazed at the night sky through his telescope. Saturn and its rings will be the stars of this special evening. It’s a great opportunity to discover secrets invisible to the naked eye. This activity is organized by the Montréal Planetarium.

When: Saturday evening, April 25, 2009 from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m.

Where: Jarry Park, in the playing field located behind the police station.

Métro De Castelnau + bus 55 North and get off at rue Gounod; or
Métro Jarry + bus 193 West and get off at rue de l’Esplanade

Free activity; Welcome to all!

Depending on the weather conditions, telescope viewing could be replaced by astronomy workshops.
