The Montreal Highlights Festival finishes its concert programming with a show by the Matt Herskowitz Trio and in a different venue from the others:
The Matt Herskowitz Trio—featuring Matt Herskowitz (piano), David Rozenblatt (drums) and Mat Fieldes (bass)—presents an evening of Herskowitz’s original compositions, including Scenes from Jerusalem Trilogy—a piece combining Jewish and Arab musical styles and grooves— and Polonaise Libanaise, as well as Herskowitz’s arrangement of the Prokofiev Etude in C Minor (op. 2 no. 3) and other original material presented in Herskowitz’s signature contemporary jazz/classical crossover style.
