It’s the last week in July to participate in Fun in the Sun in Cabot Square and there is only one week left after this. Click on Fun in the Sun in Cabot Square, July 6-Aug. 5, 2010 to find out when and where the following activities are taking place:

Thursday 22nd of July (ages 2 to 5)

Dance and Movement – Sheenru Yong

How does a lion roar, or an eagle soar?  Come shake it up and stretch it out in this exciting yoga dance class!  We’ll explore the movement and postures of animals, warriors, and natural wonders, and then see where else the imagination of our bodies takes us.  No spirit too small or inflexible to have fun with this creative expression.

Tuesday 27th of July (ages 2 to 5)

Afrique en Mouvement – Kattam

Kattam offers children a first look at the beautiful continent of Africa.  As the children dance along to the upbeat rhythms of the djembe, the balafon, the darbuka and the gongoma, they will learn the names of African countries, move to the dance of the desert, go on a jungle expedition and more.

Thursday 29th of July (ages 2 to 5)

Printmaking – Kerry Byrne

We’ll be rolling on the ink and rolling out the prints. People have been making prints for 5000 years, and now it’s your turn. Join Kerry Byrne for a water-based printmaking workshop and create your own colourful pictures and cards. Kerry Byrne is a Montreal-based artist and art educator. Her first graphic novel Lillian the Legend, published in 2008 by Conundrum Press, chronicals the journey of Lillian Alling, a Russian immigrant who walked from New York to Russia in the 1920s.
