Here are two events to share with you. One is for anyone who wants to help raise money and have a good time and the other is for those who are living with cancer and who would like to learn how to be pampered and pamper themselves.
As far as fundraisers go, the cost is very reasonable, which is why I think it’s a great fit for MOTC. Read on to learn more:
The Sweetest Thing Fundraiser
A Benefit Show to raise funds for the Cedars Cancer Institute’s CanSupport program.
Performers with impeccable talent will be performing at the Just For Laughs Studio for the CanSupport Benefit Show on Saturday, August 14th, 2010.
Funds raised by The Sweetest Thing Fundraiser will be directed to assist Cedars CanSupport to provide free emotional, humanitarian and practical assistance to cancer patients and their families at the MUHC.
The Benefit Show will be hosted by Montreal’s own comedian, DeAnne Smith, with talents such as Amanda Mabro, Colin Moore, Coco Framboise, Miss Sugarpuss, Chris Mysterion and many more. During the show prizes donated by sponsors will be raffled off with, raffle ticket proceeds going to CanSupport as well.
Followed by the show will be the Sweetest Thing’s Cancer Workshops on August 15th , 2010 at 10am for cancer patients and their support groups to attend at the Just For Laughs Temple. The workshops will be a combination of what CanSupport offers and some pampering on our part. “Not only do I want to organize an event that will help financially but I want to include those who
deal with cancer on a more personal level… the cancer patients themselves,” says event founder, Christyna Guerard.
Funds will be collected from the tickets being sold at a cost of $35 per person for the Benefit Show and $10 per ticket for the Cancer Workshops. Ninety percent of the ticket price will be given to the Cedars CanSupport program. Donations will also be accepted.
