Free Arcade Fire Show, September 22, 2011.
Here’s your chance to see Arcade Fire – for free. Part of the POP Montreal series, this is just one show of many. While most are paid events, the prices are very reasonable.
This free event is being held on September 22, 2011 at the place des Festivals of Quartier des Spectacles at 9 p.m.

Free activities
Starting Friday, August 5, the group Black Parents will get you dancing with its unique style dubbed “raggakompa.” The next day, Saturday, August 6, Labess will offer rich, festive melodies that move between Spanish flamenco and Gypsy rumba, and pick up some mixed music from North Africa along the way. On Sunday, August 7, the young and young-at-heart will be enchanted by the fascinating musical tale Le Dragon de la lune, which takes them on a voyage into the magical world of dragons. On August 12, Rommel Ribeiro and his musicians will juggle African and Brazilian styles, reggae and funk, all with an urban flavour. On August 13, the spotlight will fall on the Cuban Martinez Show, led by Yordan Martinez, with jazz, funk and Cuban rhythms. On Sunday, August 14, Alpha Thiam will take the whole family on a trip with its magnificent songs in the Fula, Mandinka and Sousou languages. On Friday, August 19, the Balkan Beat Party, with Roma Carnivale and DJ Touski, will crank up the energy with its gypsy sounds, and on Saturday, August 20 the big celebration will really hit its peak with an afternoon of activities and surprises! Starting at 5 p.m., the rising art stars of the Saint-Michel neighbourhood will be showcased, and FALLA attendees will set on fire an immense wooden and paper sculpture they built during the summer. Lastly, Kobo Towntakes fire to the stage with its joyous, infections beats to prolong the magic of La FALLA.

DIANE LABELLE: Montreal born dancer and founder of ECLECTIC CO. brings her innovative vision to life, blending various musicians from different cultures with Dancers and Percussionists from Quebec.
RAQ-ATTACK: Percussionists from the 4 corners of Quebec, (Luc Harbour, Steve Gray, Patrick Duclos and Jean Sébastien Auger) passionate about Middle Eastern and North Africa rhythms.
FUSION BELLY DANCERS: Three girls who share the same passion, their love of dance, and sharing it with the audience. (Principessa Ann, Genny and Zeïna)

Montreal Symphony Orchestra, July 28, 2011
The OSM continues to provide free shows to their Montreal audience. This year, catch them at parc de l’Honerable-George-O’Reilly in Verdun at 6500 LaSalle Boulevard.
They will be playing pieces from Borodin, Tchaikovsky, and Shostakovitch. The show is on July 28 and begins at 7:30 pm.
