Another tip from a friend:

Atwater Library Book Sale, every Wednesday to Saturday from 12-3. In the basement of the Atwater Library, really good books for cheap (like 50 cents cheap). They change the books every day. The Montreal Children’s Library also sells books.

Benny Library Book Sale – June 13 2009

Library book sales are a great way to get some reading material (both in English and French) you may not have noticed before – and at super prices.

Benny Library in NDG is having a book sale organized by the Partners for the Benny Library, a non-profit community group.

When: Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m

Toy lending libraries across Montreal

Toys are expensive and, of course, our kids usually want just about any toy they see. But how many times do we spend good money on a must-have only to see our child lose interest in less than a day or two?

If you don’t have space to store toys, would like to test toys out before buying them, have family with children visiting for a while, or you just don’t want to or can’t spend the money on toys, a toy lending library may be the answer for you.

I found this listing for toy lending libraries but I haven’t checked them out for policies, how they work and so on – you should call them or go visit to find out this type of information.

First Sunday of the month, at 3 p.m., a snack & storytime for the family (children ages 3 to 12)
