Toons for Toddlers: Thomas & Friends, Aug. 29/30, 2009

Looking for a fun, inexpensive outing for the younger ones? Toons for Toddlers is a monthly program that was designed specifically for toddlers (ages 2 to 5) who don’t have to sit still in a dark theatre in order to enjoy a movie geared towards them. This month, it’s a Thomas the Tank Engine movie.

Online Screening Room – Free NFB movies

Many of us remember NFB movies from school and maybe we weren’t entirely impressed, but the National Film Board of Canada has some amazing films and hundreds of them are available to you – at home – on your computer, for free viewing.

Thanks to a reader, Julie, I learned bout the NFB Online Screening Room. According to their website: "Watch hundreds of films free online – documentaries, animation and alternative dramas.

National Film Board: Personal Viewing Stations

What an interesting way to spend a couple of hours if you’re a movie buff. Did you know that you can view one of 9,000 films at the National Film Board of Canada for very little in cost?

What: Personal viewing stations, where you can watch movies from the NFB collection of your own choosing

Where: CinéRobothèque, 1564 rue Saint-Denis , Montreal, 514-496-6887

Cost: Students and seniors: $2 (1 hour) ; $3.50 (2 hours)
         Adults: $3 (1 hour); $5.50 (2 hours).

Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, noon to 9 pm
