Thursday 22nd of July (ages 2 to 5)
Dance and Movement – Sheenru Yong
How does a lion roar, or an eagle soar? Come shake it up and stretch it out in this exciting yoga dance class! We’ll explore the movement and postures of animals, warriors, and natural wonders, and then see where else the imagination of our bodies takes us. No spirit too small or inflexible to have fun with this creative expression.
Tuesday 27th of July (ages 2 to 5)
Afrique en Mouvement – Kattam
Kattam offers children a first look at the beautiful continent of Africa. As the children dance along to the upbeat rhythms of the djembe, the balafon, the darbuka and the gongoma, they will learn the names of African countries, move to the dance of the desert, go on a jungle expedition and more.
Thursday 29th of July (ages 2 to 5)
Printmaking – Kerry Byrne
We’ll be rolling on the ink and rolling out the prints. People have been making prints for 5000 years, and now it’s your turn. Join Kerry Byrne for a water-based printmaking workshop and create your own colourful pictures and cards. Kerry Byrne is a Montreal-based artist and art educator. Her first graphic novel Lillian the Legend, published in 2008 by Conundrum Press, chronicals the journey of Lillian Alling, a Russian immigrant who walked from New York to Russia in the 1920s.

The Montreal Children’s Library presents “Fun in the Sun in Cabot Square” (in partnership with the Ville-marie borough).
From July 6th to August 5th, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are for the littlest (0-5) and Wednesday are for the 6 to 10 year olds.
Where is Cabot Square? It’s the small park next to the Montreal Children’s Hospital, across from the Atwater Library. The Atwater metro has an exit right into the square and many bus lines service it.

Tuesday 6th of July (ages 2 to 5)
Jennifer Gasoi
Join Jennifer Gasoi for a musical journey into the world of jazz, blues, folk, and calypso. Nominated for a 2005 Juno Award for best Children’s Album of the Year, Jennifer has the unique gift of writing and performing upbeat, intelligent children’s songs that adults love too. The lyrics are clever, the melodies are catchy, and the rhythms are undeniably danceable.

Improvisational Theatre with Mike Hughes
Have you ever dreamt of being a star of stage and screen? Do you have an inner drama king or queen that can’t wait to be released? Professional Montreal actor Mike Hughes can help. He will set the stage with a workshop on improvisational acting, so bring your game face and be prepared for the unexpected. With improv theatre anything can happen….

Depêche Toi! – Puzzle Theatre
Puzzle Theatre will lead us on a hilarious journey to the faraway country of Depêche Toi! It is a land inhabited by strange creatures who while away their hours worrying about not having enough time. Puzzle Theatre was founded in 1996, in Sofia, Bulgaria. Since 2004, its creators have been living and working in Montreal, creating visually stunning plays that incorporate puppetry, costumes, objects, and drama to the delight of audiences young and old.

Recycled Accessories – Nicole Picard
Who says you have to choose between being fashionable and functional? Artist and designer Nicole Picard leads the workshop on breathing life into old materials to create environmentally conscious accessories. Capoeira – Porto da Barra
Capoeira is a 500 year old Afro-Brazilian art form that incorporates dance, music, rhythm and martial arts. Huu Bac and Marie Neige
HuuBac and Marie Neige join forces to express their common passion in a unique musical presentation that transcends age and geography. Huu-Bac is as able to play a Quebecois reel on his traditional vietnamese dan bau as Marie Neige is to offer a Chinese, Peruvian, or European melody on her violin. The possibilities of their collaboration are endless and any creation will be noteworthy and unforgettable.
