I fell down on the job – didn’t get some jazz fest stuff out in time for you to enjoy the past weekend. I’m sorry about that! I went out of town and it slipped my mind.

Not to despair though; there are still many shows to come. So many so that I’ll send you over to a blog that already has all the free shows listed. It makes much more sense than re-entering them all again.

Free Jazz Festival Concerts – July 4, 2009

And the Jazzfest continues, along with many more free concerts:

At 11 A.M. and again at 1:30 P.M., The little school of jazz returns at 150 Ste-Catherine Street West.

Noon brings you Sonny Larosa America’s Youngest Jazz Band at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Jeanne-Mance

An hour later, at 1 P.M., you’ll find La fanfare du Belgistan at the Place des Arts esplinade.

Stay at the esplinade because at 2 P.M., Gadji-Gadjo

Fat Tuesday Brass returns at 3 P.M. at Hydro-Québec Park, corner Clark and Sainte-Catherine or you can go see Les pros du Camp de blues, also at 3, at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Jeanne-Mance

At 4 P.M, you can find Combo Luc Beaugrand at the door of  Complexe Desjardins

Then, at 6 P.M, the evening program starts with Larry Roy & Steve Kirby Group performing at Scène General Motors

That 1 Guy‘s show begins at Place des Arts epslinade at 7 P.M. or, you may choose to take in Chocolate Thunder performing at the corner of Président-Kennedy and De Maisonneuve (with a repeat performance at 11 P.M.), Antoine Dufour at the corner of De Bleury and De Maisonneuve, or Tyler Hornby at Hydro-Québec Park, corner Clark and Sainte-Catherine (repeating at 9 P.M.).

At 8 P.M, there’s Lily Frost and The Debonairs at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Jeanne-Mance (repeat performance at 10 P.M.) or Zemog at Clark parking.

9 P.M. has a few more to choose from: Cordero at Complexe Desjardins doors (repeat performance at 11 P.M.), Astillero at Scène General Motors (repeat performance at 11 P.M.), and Bob Walsh at the corner of Président-Kennedy and De Maisonneuve (repeat performance at 11:59 at 305 Sainte-Catherine Street West).

At 10 P.M., Wale performs at Clark parking

11 P.M. brings John Roney / Jim Doxas Trio at 305 Sainte-Catherine street West

Dan Thouin, Maxime St-pierre, Adrian Vedady, Massimo Sansalone performs at 11:59 at 59 Ste-Catherine Street East

Free Jazz Festival Concerts – July 3, 2009

Don’t take a break – there are more free shows coming. Today, you’ll have to make some tough choices:

Don’t forget The Little School of Jazz at 150 Ste-Catherine Street West, at 11:00 A.M and again at 1:30 P.M.

At noon, you’ll find Jazztet Cégep Lionel-Groulx playing at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Jeanne-Mance

Le Dixieband returns yet again, today at 1 P.M., at Hydro-Québec Park, corner Clark and Sainte-Catherine

Gadji-Gadjo is also at 1, at the Place des Arts esplinade

At 2 P.M., Fat Tuesday Brass makes a return appearance also at the Place des Arts esplinade and they return at 4:30 at the same place

Stageband la découverte follows at 3 P.M. at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Jeanne-Mance competing with Streetnix, which is performing again at Hydro-Québec Park, corner Clark and Sainte-Catherine

Atomic 5 makes its only Jazzfest appearance at 4:o0 at the door of  Complexe Desjardins

There’s no competition at 6 P.M., when Amanda Tosoff performs at the Scène General Motors.
An hour later, at 7 P.M., you’ll have to make a choice between some great performances:
Nobuki Takamen at the Place des Arts esplinade

JP Soars & the Red Hots at the corner or Président-Kennedy and De Maisonneuve (where there’s a repeat performance at 11 P.M.)

Denis Chang at the corner or De Bleury and De Maisonneuve
and
Luis Mario Ochoa Quintet avec Hilario Durán at Hydro-Québec Park, corner Clark and Sainte-Catherine, with a repeat performance at the same place at 9 P.M.

Lynda Thalie performs at 8 P.M. at the Clarke Parking
You’ll also find Room Eleven at 8, at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Jeanne-Mance and a repeat performance at 10, same place

At 9, you have a choice to make again:
Florence K – La Noche de Lola at Scène General Motors (repeat performance at 11 P.M.)
Jonas – Back to blues at Corner Président-Kennedy and De Maisonneuve with a repeat performance at 11:59 at 305 Sainte-Catherine Street West

Les Païens at Door of the Complexe Desjardins, with a repeat at 11 P.M. at the same place.

At 10 P.M., you’ll find Nomadic Massive at the Clark parking
John Roney / Jim Doxas Trio performs at 11 P.M. again at 305, Sainte-Catherine street West.

Finally, if you still have energy and you’re not going to see Jonas at 11:59, Dan Thouin, Maxime St-pierre, Adrian Vedady, Massimo Sansalone is performing at the same time at 59 Ste-Catherine Street East. They have two more shows coming up in case you miss this one.

Free Jazz Festival Concerts – June 30, 2009

Want to see free shows during the Jazz Festival? Well, you’re in luck.

We know about the free Stevie Wonder concert on June 30th, let’s see what else is free on June 30 and where:

Le Dixiband- on the Place des Arts esplanade at 5 P.M. If you miss them then, they’re playing again on July 4.

At 5 P.M., we also have the Festival Parade, which starts at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Saint-Urbain (and does so every day during the Jazzfest).

Melanie Fiona performs at 7 P.M. at the corner of Président-Kennedy and De Maisonneuve

PapaGroove‘s show is at 8 P.M., at the door of the Complexe Desjardins

And of course, Stevie Wonder is at 9:30 P.M.
