A family-friendly walking tour of the fossils, minerals and secret spots found in the walls of some of downtown Montreal’s proudest institutions. The tour starts at the Redpath Museum (859 Sherbrooke Street West) and returns along Sherbrooke Street west from the Beaux Arts Museum. All ages welcome. In english. Reservation necessary. $12 adult regular, $7 senior/student/child. Includes a copy of the popular booklet What Building Stones Tell. Freaky Fridays, according to the Redpath Museum website are:

A series of public outreach lectures where McGill scientists examine the myths and realities of everything from aliens to global warming.
Where: Auditorium, Redpath Museum, 859 Sherbrooke Street West, Metro McGill/Peel (unless otherwise indicated).
Seating is limited. No reservations necessary.
When: 5 PM
Cost: Free, unless indicated otherwise.

Redpath Museum

The Redpath Museum is part of McGill University and the building is the oldest in Canada.

You can view the Redpath’s exhibits collections relating to paleontology, zoology, minerology and ethnology. The museum also offers children’s Sunday workshops.

Admission to the museum is free, for the workshops, the charge is 6.00 per child and free for parents.

Monday to Friday: 9 am – 5 pm
Saturday: closed
Sunday: 1 pm – 5 pm

The museum is closed on public holiday.
